MSD Special Education Instructional Health Assistant ) - Crossroads Elementary

Position is for the 2025-26 school year and is a full‑time instructional support role with 6.5 hours per day, 183 school days per year (170 instructional days, 4 paid holidays, 7 planning days, 2 extended days). The position is considered full‑time with benefits.

• Assist teachers and schools with classroom instruction.
• Provide student behavioral support.
• Attend to the health care needs of students during the school day in accordance with state laws and district regulations.

• Must have 48 semester hours, an Associate’s Degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have passed the para educator exam and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.
• Applicants may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full‑time, verified experience; the applicant is responsible for submitting BCPS verification of experience to the prior employer.

Base pay range: $30,000.00/yr – $30,000.00/yr. Pay is set on an hourly rate, divided across a year‑long contract. Hourly rates:
Step 0 – $15.98/hr;
Step 10 – $19.67/hr.
