• Write and implement PLC code, integrate subsystems, and assist in all on‑site commissioning efforts.
• Utilize Human Machine Interface (HMI) using commercially available products such as Ignition, Aveva Intouch Wonderware, Aveva Edge (Indusoft) or Factory Talk View to develop interface solutions.
• Implement PLC and HMI programs to satisfy current design and customer specifications under the supervision of Sr Controls Engineers.
• Able to review and understand electrical designs.
• As part of a team, support the commissioning of complex automated systems, provide site engineering support, and participate in system acceptance testing.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or comparable.
• Familiar with basic electronic/electrical schematics or components.
• Preferred: 0‑2 years of experience within an industrial controls environment which includes:
• PLC programming (Rockwell Software, Siemens or Schneider).
• HMI Programming (Factory Talk View or Ignition).
• Familiar with IO devices and device layout.
• Industrial communication networks (Ether Net/IP, Devicenet, Profinet, etc.).
• Low voltage electrical design and drawing creation.
• Equivalent work experience will also be considered as a substitute for education.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 - Office Apps.

• Must be self‑motivated, self‑aware, detail‑oriented, and results‑focused.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with FORTNA team members, project managers and customers in a professional written and spoken manner.
• Ability to take direction from Sr. Level Controls Engineers to support the project and ensure all aspects of project goals are achieved.
• Basic understanding of induction motors, programmable logic controllers and industrial networks is a plus.

This job operates primarily at remote customer sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc. When traveling the job environment shifts to a site‑based, typically industrial. When traveling this role routinely uses appropriate PPE, electrical diagnostic tools, electrical implementation tools, laptops, and networking equipment.

Generally, this position requires up to 75% travel to various sites.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to navigate safely over and around warehouse automation equipment.
• Physical stamina may be required for prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and/or working in cramped quarters.
• Exposure to potentially dangerous tools and equipment amidst a variety of building materials is probable, as is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• The noise level in the work environment can vary from being relatively quiet, to moderate, to excessive.
