What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Improve the accuracy of outpatient clinical documentation coding and charging
  • Educate clinical departments and coding staff on documentation and charging processes
  • Assist clinical areas in effectively documenting services provided
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to coding and charging
  • Review health records to determine applicable charges and codes for billing
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Certification as a CPC-Certified Professional Coder, COC-Certified Outpatient Coder, RHIA, or RHIT
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent relevant experience in healthcare coding
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding processes, and billing functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Power Point
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems, preferably EPIC
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
  • Familiarity with Medicare APC and OPPS reimbursement structures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with senior leadership
  • Understanding of government and commercial payer requirements
