Responsible for maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the site in accordance with Good Manufacturing and Distribution Practice (GMDP), approved cleaning schedules, and health and safety procedures within a regulated medical device environment. Supports the hygiene team in the completion of daily cleaning and sanitation activities, ensuring tasks are carried out in line with documented procedures, quality requirements, and contamination control measures.
Proactively identifies and reports any issues, deviations, or non-conformances to management, contributing to continuous improvement and compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Demonstrates flexibility and reliability by providing cover for absences due to holiday or sickness to support ongoing operations and maintain site compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Following approved cleaning rotas and documented procedures in line with Good Manufacturing and Distribution Practice (GMDP) and site quality requirements.
- Maintaining a high level of health and safety awareness, promptly identifying and reporting any health, safety, quality or environmental concerns in accordance with site policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring high levels of cleanliness are maintained throughout the site
- Supporting other hygiene staff with day-to-day tasks, working collaboratively to ensure cleaning activities are completed effectively and in line with expectations.
- Flexibility in covering holiday and sickness absence
- Adhering to site quality policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training requirements relevant to cleaning and hygiene activities
- Completing required cleaning records, checklists, and logs accurately and in a timely manner to support traceability and audit readiness
Using approved cleaning chemicals, equipment, and PPE correctly and safely in accordance with COSHH and site procedures
Education / Experience Person Specification Skills / Knowledge- Good standard of general education
- Basic awareness of quality systems within a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 3 years Woundcare/medical Device Industry/ Healthcare Experience
- Experience working in a regulated environment (medical devices, pharmaceutical, healthcare, food, or cleanroom)
- Qualifications
- GMDP, GMP, or cleanroom awareness training
- Manual handling or COSHH knowledge
- Reliable, punctual, and conscientious with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with supervisors
- Flexible and dependable, with the ability to cover holiday and sickness absence
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Professional and respectful manner when working in a regulated workplace
- Commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards
