Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) – PRN

STGi is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide services at our Community‑Based Outpatient Clinic.

Job Summary

The general duty of the Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse is to provide a wide variety of clinical and administrative nursing care under the direction of the CBOC Clinic Manager, PACT Provider and STGi Program Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration techniques per facility protocols and state regulations.
  • Work with the PACT team to check‑in/check‑out patients and participate in all staff meetings and PACT huddles.
  • Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medications or physical/mental conditions.
  • Perform CPR and assist during respiratory and cardiac arrest procedures.
  • Perform nursing procedures including dressing changes, suture removal, oxygen administration, wound irrigation, catheterization, injection administration and venipuncture.
  • Prepare patients for laboratory procedures, assist the Primary Care Provider and RN Care Manager, and set up therapeutic and emergency equipment.
  • Maintain universal precautions, infection control practices, and assist support staff as needed.
  • Document patient information in VISTA and maintain the clinic reminder tracking system.
  • Schedule patients for initial and follow‑up appointments in accordance with VA access standards.
  • Provide health educational materials and resources to patients and families.
  • Participate in the ongoing Performance Improvement Program with STGi, its subcontractor(s), and the VAMC.
  • Assist in maintaining clinic compliance with federal, state, local, JCAHO, OSHA, Veteran Affairs, STGi VA Program and subcontractor safety and operational regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality, support patients’ privacy, rights and safety, and apply customer service techniques.
  • Perform follow‑up visits, general clerical/administrative support coordination, and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Prefer 1–3 years of current clinical experience in an outpatient or hospital environment (Medical‑Surgical, ICU, ER).
  • Knowledge of basic and complex nursing methods, anatomy variations, and practical nursing principles.
  • Ability to assess patient condition, recognize adverse signs, and react swiftly in emergencies.
  • Ability to follow orders, work independently, and provide individualized health instruction.
  • Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills with proficiency in customer service.
  • Knowledge of specialized terminology in primary care and competency in Microsoft Office, EMR systems.
  • Detail‑oriented with multi‑tasking ability.
Required Education and Licensure
  • LPN from an accredited nursing school.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted nursing license in Arkansas.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Military Training Network.
Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Moderate physical activity; handling objects up to 25 lb and standing/walking 4+ hours per day.
  • Typical interior/office environment with readiness to respond to medical emergencies.
