Physical Education Teacher
Waldorf School of the Peninsula (Preschool - Grade 12) is celebrating its 41st year of bringing Waldorf education to Northern California. Our school has two beautiful campuses:
Preschool through grade 5 in Los Altos and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Our school is a full member of and accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. WSP is dedicated to hiring dedicated and highly capable faculty and administration. We invest in our learning and growth to best serve the needs of our students, teachers, community, and each other.
We are seeking an Athletic Director for our Mountain View, CA campus. The Athletic Director manages and works with players, parents, coaches, and school personnel to ensure that the school’s athletic program is achieving its goals and is fostering a positive culture of athletics. The Athletic Director works with the school leadership and community to create a vision for the growth and development of the athletic program and work to achieve that vision.
This role is an hourly, part-time school year position of approximately 25 hours a week.
- Schedule Middle School games
- Schedule High School games
- Approve coaching hours
- Respond to email within 24 hours
- Address concerns and feedback to the HS admin team
- Coordinate transportation in advance
- Be available during after school hours to visit practices, watch matches, and assist driving vans if needed
- Distribute jerseys before the season begins
- Work with the financial department in regards to budget and expenses
- Attend any necessary leagues or other administrative meetings representing the school
- Daily check-in with coaches (if they need help, how things are developing etc.)
- Weekly oversight of schedule, transportation needs, and communication with parents
- Weekly calendar updates to Admin for schedule
- Monitor the weather for outdoor practice (rain) November-March. Provide a solution to coaches so practice won’t get canceled
- Weekly meetings with supervisor (MV Campus Director)
- You share the same vision as Waldorf School of the Peninsula in the holistic growth of students.
- You possess strong communication skills, ability to motivate young generation and communicate with a diverse group of students.
- You are empathetic and positive on the challenges as they rise.
- Demonstrated success working with the high school age range.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred. - Proven experience in athletic administration, preferably at the primary/secondary level.
- Valid Drivers license.
- CPR certification and Mandated Reporter certification required.
- Must complete DOJ and FBI live‑scan fingerprinting prior to the start of service.
- The position is compensated between $35-$50 per hour depending on qualifications and duties.
