Violin Teacher – Opus 1 Music Studio (Mountain View, CA)
Full‑time teaching position with flexibility for part‑time consideration. The role is based in Mountain View (Palo Alto also available) and involves onsite lessons in a high‑quality studio environment.
About Opus 1 Music StudioOpus 1 is a top‑rated music school with close to 10,000 sq/ft of studio space and over 1,000 students. We offer private and group lessons for piano, violin, viola, cello, voice, ukulele, and guitar in the Silicon Valley cities of Palo Alto and Mountain View.
DescriptionTeachers handle teaching and student communication only; all scheduling, enrollment, accounting, and recital/contest registration is handled by full‑time administrative staff. Lessons are conducted on‑site, with both online and in‑person options available.
Qualifications- Current legal status to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or higher degree in music; preference for MM/MA or DM/PhD.
- Live in the Bay Area with reliable transportation to Mountain View/Palo Alto.
- Experience teaching and performing on the violin.
- Exceptional communication skills with students and parents.
- Willingness to collaborate with parents and students to design personalized lesson plans.
- Ability to adapt to new teaching environments and requirements.
- Experience preparing students for performances and exams.
- Knowledge of ABRSM practical and theory exams or willingness to learn.
- Ability to manage a teaching schedule through the school app/website and follow attendance policies.
- English proficiency.
- Variable demand; available from Sunday–Saturday, mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
- Weekday teaching hours: 2:30 pm–9 pm; weekend hours: 9 am–7 pm.
- Preferred to teach six consecutive hours per day (plus breaks) six days a week (full‑time).
- Professional full‑time staff handles all administrative work.
- High‑quality Yamaha pianos and studio environment.
- Recital/performance opportunities for students three times a year or more.
