Teledyne Microwave Solutions is hiring a Sr. Mechanical Engineer with the following essential duties and responsibilities:

Qualifications

  • Develop and design mechanical components and assemblies for RF MIC modules and sub-systems, including key contributor in component design - material and manufacturing method selection, analysis of mechanical stress and compatibility, load distribution, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability, including preparation of detailed documentation and in-depth technical review.

  • Perform engineering calculations to support design concepts, including stress analysis/FEA for mechanical robustness, and tolerance models

  • Collaborate with electrical, process, and manufacturing engineering teams to insure seamless integration of electrical, process, and manufacturability into designs and design fluidity

  • Proficiency in Solid Works CAD software

  • General knowledge of working materials such as Aluminum, Molybdenum, Kovar, and ceramic is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Some experience with FEA modeling setup & model check to ensure accurate analysis

  • Evaluate validation requirement from customer and develop adequate test methods & design jigs

  • Evaluate design alternatives based on cost, quality and production feasibility

  • Create test reports and present to customers

  • Lead product testing and coordinate various activities

  • Document assembly and test procedures, programs and test systems and part set up, and creation of BOM’s and routings in the company’s ERP/PDM System

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 15+ years of related experience.

  • Highly effective design skills in CAD (Solid Works)

  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal & written communication

  • Ability to plan & prioritize

  • Experience in FEA is a strong plus

  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills

  • US Citizen with ability to attain/maintain Government Security Clearance
