Position:
Sr. Staff Software Engineer – AI + Data Intelligence Platform
Databricks is looking for an experienced engineer to build the next generation of our Data Intelligence Platform. You will work with product, data science, and engineering teams to create tools, pipelines, and infrastructure at scale.
Impact you will have
• Design and run the cross‑company Data Intelligence Platform that powers all Databricks metrics.
• Develop tooling and infrastructure for scaling Databricks on multi‑cloud deployments, including CI/CD, test frameworks, and IaC.
• Lead the long‑term vision and requirements for the platform, working closely with engineering and product teams.
• Build reliable data pipelines and solve data problems using Databricks, partner products, and OSS tools.
• Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences.
What we look for
• AI‑first mindset with strong productivity and value‑driven code.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of industry experience building and operating large‑scale distributed systems.
• 6+ years of technical leadership on planet‑scale production data systems.
• Experience leading performance‑sensitive architecture (latency‑critical services, multi‑tenant platforms, large‑scale indexing pipelines).
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Strategic thinking aligning engineering execution with product and company goals.
• Passion for mentoring and developing other engineers.
Pay Range
$228,400 – $303,550 USD
