Full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician

Pet Vet Care Centers' Mountain View Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team.

Position Overview
  • The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients.
  • Responsibilities include providing patient care, determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, feeding patients, maintaining supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and patient discharge, and maintaining patient medical records.
Key Responsibilities
  • Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, interviews, and reviewing care plans.
  • Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, and bandaging wounds.
  • Support examinations and operations by preparing supplies, restraining patients, and assisting as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and specialized equipment.
  • Obtain and verify medications.
  • Ensure patient comfort, cleanliness of rooms, cages, and equipment, and monitor clinical signs.
  • Administer medications, record dosages, and secure controlled drugs.
  • Maintain a safe, sterile, and humane environment through sterilization, sanitization, and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in the database.
  • Communicate patient status to owners as directed.
  • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and request repairs.
  • Manage inventory and place orders for supplies.
  • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional journals.
  • Release pets to owners, ensuring cleanliness and proper grooming.
  • Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by Manager or practice.
Qualifications (Required)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Veterinary Technician License in Washington state.
  • Veterinary Technician experience.
  • At least one year of experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Anesthesia monitoring experience.
  • Dental cleaning & polishing experience.
  • Surgery prep experience.
  • Veterinary general practice experience.
  • Displays a desire to build rapport, provide personal assistance, and offer emotional support.
  • Works cooperatively with the team to accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and dependability.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to address and follow through on tasks.
  • Adapts quickly to changing demands and manages multiple priorities.
  • Uses effective communication methods.
  • Provides outstanding customer service and exceeds expectations.
  • Maintains meticulous organization and attention to detail.

Pay Range: $25 — $28 USD
