Senior Frontend Engineer

About the Role

At Inworld, we aim to transform static software into AI systems that autonomously evolve to better serve their users. We have built an intelligent runtime to empower developers, and this summer we launched a new platform for consumer AI applications. We are looking for a senior frontend engineer to advance the web experience of our platform, with a focus on delivering high‑quality, developer‑centric features quickly.

Your main focus will be evolving the developer‑centric web experience for the @inworld/runtime NPM package. Key areas include:

• TTS playground – allow users to try existing voices or clone their own voice in seconds
• Full observability suite – logs, metrics/dashboards, traces for data generated by the runtime package
• Additional developer journeys and features as needed

Key challenges:

• Shipping quickly
  —AI evolves weekly; we need to move fast to capture new opportunities.
• Developer‑focused design
  —ensure the web experience is productive for AI developers rather than end consumers.
• Solid foundations
  —improve state, query handling, routing, hooks, auth, test coverage, and other essentials while delivering features.

• Establish prioritized feature scope
  —collaborate with PMs, engineers, and leads to focus on the biggest product needs.
• Collaborate, execute, deliver, and iterate
  —drive the end‑to‑end build loop with speed and quality.
• Advocate for foundational improvements
  —continue refining core architecture while working on feature delivery.

• Strong experience building full‑featured React applications with libraries such as React Router and React Query.
• Familiarity with frontend tools and libraries—MUI, Emotion, PostCSS, React Testing Library, Playwright, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

• Familiarity with Cursor or other AI‑assisted coding tools.
• Experience with turborepo.
• Experience building AI‑centric web apps and knowledge of AI/ML concepts.

Candidates must be based in the SF Bay Area or be willing to relocate to our South Bay office, where you will work on‑site a few days a week.

The base salary range for this full‑time position is $200,000 – $250,000. Compensation also includes equity and benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, level, experience, and business needs.
