Senior Software Engineer, Cameras and Imaging for Mapping

Google's software engineers develop cutting‑edge technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. In this role you will work on the Geo team, building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, and Google Maps Platform.

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.

• Participate in, or lead, design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on technologies.

• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.

• Contribute to documentation or educational content and adapt it based on updates and feedback.

• Triage product or system issues and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing sources of issues and impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience developing software using C++.

• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

• Experience in image processing, image quality evaluation, or camera tuning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

• Experience developing accessible technologies.

Salary

US base salary range: $166,000–$244,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
