About

the Role

The Aftercare Counselor at Brighton School is a vital position designed for individuals passionate about child development and dedicated to enriching the after‑school experience of young learners. This role involves supervising students in the aftercare program, facilitating various activities including homework help, creative arts, and indoor/outdoor play, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment beyond school hours. The hours for this position are Monday‑Friday 2:30‑5:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Assist students with homework and educational activities, providing guidance and supervision.
  • Plan and execute engaging after‑school activities, including arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play.
  • Collaborate with the school team to enhance the student experience and foster a positive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience working with children is preferred.
  • The ability to pass state and federal background checks.
  • A positive, energetic, and patient demeanor, with strong communication skills and a team‑oriented approach.
