We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Library Assistant to join our team in Muharraq, Bahrain. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the library and providing support to library patrons.

• Assist with circulation duties such as checking out and returning books, processing holds and overdue notices
• Shelve and organize library materials according to library standards
• Answer basic reference questions and assist patrons with locating materials
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the library space
• Assist with collection development by identifying gaps in the collection and making recommendations for new purchases
• Process new materials by stamping, labeling, and covering books as needed
• Provide support for library programs and events as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field preferred
• Experience working in a library setting is preferred but not required
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to patrons of all ages
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
