Librarian

Library Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team in Muharraq. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the library, including cataloging and organizing books, assisting patrons with inquiries and checkout processes, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the library.

• Assist with cataloging and organizing books in accordance with library standards
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with inquiries and checkout processes
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of shelves, tables, and other areas in the library
• Sort and shelve returned books in their designated locations
• Assist with processing new book acquisitions
• Monitor inventory levels and inform management of any needed supplies or materials
• Create engaging displays to promote new books or themed collections
• Assist with planning and facilitating events or programs for library patrons

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Library Science preferred
• Previous experience working in a library setting is a plus, but not required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries from diverse individuals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed

Contract position paying $1200 per month.

Muharraq, Bahrain. Open to all nationalities.
