Job Title:

Librarian

We are searching for a knowledgeable and organized Librarian to join our team at our library in Muharraq. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books and a strong understanding of library systems and procedures.

• Manage and organize library materials, including books, periodicals, and multimedia resources
• Catalogue new materials using the Dewey Decimal system
• Help patrons locate materials and provide reference services
• Develop and implement library programs, including book clubs and educational workshops
• Oversee circulation desk duties, including checking in/out materials and collecting fines
• Maintain accurate records of library inventory, circulation statistics, and patron information
• Assist with collection development by recommending new purchases based on community needs and interests
• Keep the library clean and orderly, including shelving books and maintaining displays
• Train and supervise volunteers or part-time staff as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field preferred
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in using library software systems
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Passion for reading and knowledge of popular literature across various genres
• Familiarity with current technology trends in libraries

Salary: $1700 USD per month

This is a full-time position open to applicants of all nationalities. Previous experience is not required, but candidates with previous library experience will be given preference.
