Job Title:

Reference Librarian The Reference Librarian will be responsible for providing reference and research assistance to library patrons in a timely and efficient manner. This individual will also assist with collection development, cataloging, and other administrative duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of library resources and search techniques, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Assist patrons in locating and accessing library resources, both physical and digital
• Provide research assistance and instruction on the use of library databases
• Assist with collection development by identifying relevant materials for acquisition
• Catalog new materials according to established standards
• Maintain accurate records of circulation and inventory
• Keep up-to-date with current trends in library services and technologies
• Collaborate with other librarians to plan and implement programs and events
• Provide excellent customer service to all library patrons

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
• Strong knowledge of reference resources, search techniques, and online databases
• Familiarity with cataloging standards such as MARC
  21 or AACR2
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well with diverse populations
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Must have a valid biometric passport for travel purposes

Muharraq, Bahrain

$1100 per month (negotiable based on qualifications)

Full-time position (40 hours per week)
