Position: Office Assistant II, Job 25-0781 KA

Job Description

This is an 8 hours per day, 180 days per year, Office Assistant II position with benefits at Kamiak High School. Anticipated start date is December 18, 2025. Hours for this position are 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The successful candidate will provide support with attendance data entry, attendance calling and attendance tracking. Duties include daily processing of parent and student messaging, daily collaboration with office staff colleagues, frequent meetings with building Attendance team, frequent clerical support for Community Truancy Board, processing district‑level attendance meetings (including invitation) and collaboration with district Attendance staff regarding BECCA petitions/WARNS assessments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excel proficiency (filtering, vlookup, concatenate, etc.)
  • Multilingual (one or more of Spanish, Russian/Ukrainian, Arabic)
  • Experience working in/with the high school environment

Job Summary

Perform a variety of clerical duties to assist students, staff, and parents and the general public.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Provide clerical support, answer phones; respond to inquiries from staff, parents, students and general public; direct inquiries to appropriate personnel; schedule appointments; and assist with other duties as directed for the purpose of providing quality customer service.
  • Process various documents and perform functions such as process mail and respond to inquiries; prepare and mail correspondence; responsible for a variety of information record keeping i.e., fiscal and/or student records; document filing, tracking information, data entry, etc.
  • May assist with student health needs.
  • May serve as a designated first aid provider.
  • May assist with supervision and monitoring of students.
  • Word process, type, copy, collate, sort, file and distribute documents to support the efficient operation of school office services.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks for the purpose of meeting deadlines, accessibility of information, and completing job duties in a timely manner.
  • Comply with District Policies.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor(s) for the purpose of maintaining an organized and efficient environment.

Education/Training
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Word process with accuracy at 50 w.p.m.
  • Vocational or technical clerical training preferred
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification (Required for Designated First Aid Providers)
Experience
  • One (1) year of applicable office or clerical experience. Vocational or technical clerical training may substitute for work experience.
Physical Requirements

Occasionally 1% – 33%, Frequently 34% – 65%, Continually 66% – 100% of the time. Walking, handling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, talking and hearing required. Vision is not a limiting factor.
