We are seeking an experienced, self-directed machinist to join our team on the Weekend Night Shift to set up and run our Large-Frame Union Horizontal CNC Boring Mill. The machine has 45 feet of X travel, 20 feet of Y travel, and 5 feet of Z travel. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Work with engineers, programmers, planners, and other machinists to produce quality parts on time and within scheduled due dates
- Ensure parts meet tolerances as defined by engineering drawings and CAD models
- Collaborate with engineers to determine disposition of out-of-spec parts
- Follow AS9100 standards and best machining practices
- Drive a forklift to move parts to empty chip bins
- Operate overhead cranes to load/unload and fixture large parts (over 20,000 lbs.)
- Minimum 4 years of training and experience on similar CNC boring mill equipment
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work unsupervised for most of the shift
- Proficiency with computers: CAD/Master
CAM/Solid Works knowledge is a plus - Ability to read, interpret, and analyze written procedures and engineering drawings in English
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Must be over 18 years old
- This position is a Weekend Night Shift
- Must be able to physically load/move materials and operate machine shop equipment throughout a full shift
- Must be able to lift up-to 70 lbs. unassisted on occasion
- Must pass a Background Check and Drug Screen
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Aerospace experience and G-code programming knowledge preferred
- Good attitude and professional references required
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise
- Pay: $45 - $55 per hour DOE
