Compass Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Evaluation & Treatment (E&T) Facility in Mukilteo. This is a vital opportunity to provide direct, recovery-focused care to adults experiencing psychiatric emergencies in a highly supportive inpatient setting.
About the E&T FacilityOur 16-bed Evaluation & Treatment Facility offers inpatient services for adults detained under the Washington State Involuntary Treatment Act (RCW 71.05). Patients may be admitted for 72-hour involuntary holds or extended 14-day commitments. Our interdisciplinary team works together to stabilize, evaluate, and treat individuals experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms—with the goal of restoring safety, dignity, and wellness.
What You’ll DoAs an RN at the E&T, you’ll serve as a clinical leader, delivering high-quality nursing care and guiding team members to ensure a therapeutic environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities- Provides screening to assess criteria for admission to the facility has been met.
- Ensures an organized and systematic method of monitoring individual client’s health status and needs.
- Facilitates appropriate admissions to the facility.
- Completes admission information and nursing assessment.
- Manages the milieu.
- Ensures clinical standards are met by clinical staff.
- Administers medication in accordance with orders from prescribers.
- Manages the medication delivery system, administers and documents medication treatment.
- Communicates and coordinates services with other medical providers.
- Transcribes medication orders written by a prescriber, as needed.
- Audits medication orders daily, and completes other audits as assigned.
- Helps to develop standards of care.
- Provides training to program staff to help them monitor psychiatric symptoms and medication side effects.
- Engages in health promotion, prevention, and educational activities.
- Assists clients with the development of strategies to maximize medication adherence.
- Trains other program staff as appropriate.
- Participates in regularly scheduled supervision and team meetings.
- Behaves in an ethical and professional manner consistent with agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.
- Remains compliant with the required trainings and certifications, and practices safe‑keeping of client protected health information per Compass Health’s HIPAA and other agency policies and procedures.

- Current Washington State RN license (required)
- Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings strongly preferred
- Current First Aid & CPR certification and Food Handler’s Permit, or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check (may include DSHS verification)
- Deep understanding of psychiatric treatment and nursing protocols
- Proficiency in medication administration and symptom management
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to navigate high-acuity environments with professionalism and calm
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation standards
- Multicultural sensitivity and respect for client dignity and autonomy
- Work takes place in a secure inpatient setting with moderate to high noise levels
- Must be able to assist in managing aggressive behavior as part of crisis response
- Requires standing, walking, and physical engagement throughout 12-hour shifts
- Occasional lifting/movement of up to 20 lbs
