General Overview

We are currently recruiting a Quality Assurance Technician with Production experience to join our Quality team! The Quality Assurance Technician is committed to fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement by ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations. Champion data‑driven decision‑making, regulatory compliance, and proactive risk management to enhance operational efficiency and reliability. Responsibilities

Monitoring of print quality on press, finishing & other manufacturing cells:

  • Production:
    Press Sign Off Approvals (Primary for Day Shift, and cross over into Swing)
  • Perform Random Quality Audits (Spot Checks) at Press, Rewind and all Workstations.
  • Inspect the press and retain samples on an on‑going basis.
  • Verification of line clearance.
  • Communicates via email to Customer Service, Shipping, Scheduling and Production, variances and shortages.
  • Create and update Product Standards as needed.
  • Perform quality checks at Rewinding.
  • Review defects noted by the Rewind Operator and randomly audit by performing a 100% re‑inspection
  • Perform and record required customer quality tests.
  • Collects and files job retains per SOP’s.
Quality Investigations & Data Steward
  • Conduct RMA/Complaint Investigations logging all relevant information into the ERP Quality Module. All findings, recommendations, root cause, contributing cause and corrective actions will be logged uniformly.
  • Generate CAPA/CAR documents
  • Complete:
    Daily, Weekly & Monthly Deliverables to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead Daily/Weekly RMA/Complaint Review Meeting.
  • Although no personnel answer directly to the QAT it is incumbent upon this position to cultivate and ensure effective relationships and communications with all personnel and departments at this site, and across the RLG network.
Other Duties
  • Internal nonconformance reporting.
  • Variance Reporting.
  • Report on Shortages
  • Collect defect samples.
  • Report Supplier Nonconformances and collect nonconforming samples.
  • Internal and external nonconformance investigations.
  • Internal and external audits.
  • Incoming inspection activities.
  • Assist in the calibration program.
  • Assist Training of Operators for QA systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of 5S in the area
  • Maintain the area as per the 5S

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of two years Quality Assurance experience in MNFG.
  • Candidates with Print & Packaging experience and a passion for QA will be considered.
  • Experience in the printing or packaging industry is a huge plus!
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
