Job Description

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders and discounts according to company policy.
- Adhere to cash handling limits and work to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions.
- Follow all food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
- Maintain equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
- Make customers feel welcome and assist with product inquiries.
- Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and with integrity.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Customer service experience
- Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
