Overview

The Drain Technician is responsible for meeting with customers to identify and diagnose drain/sewer piping concerns, getting lines flowing, and advising customers on next steps, including collaboration with a Camera Technician for a camera main inspection. Drain Technicians produce quality, on-time inspections and assist with the clearing and installation of plumbing-related jobs to meet customer agreements and local plumbing codes.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety of self, employer vehicles, equipment, and customer homes.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to complete assignments.
  • Perform drain clearing at customer homes and provide overall assessment of known systems.
  • Advise homeowners on next steps to permanently repair sewer lines.
  • Maintain clean and organized job areas and work efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Camera Technician, Dispatch, and Sewer Supervisor to provide customer solutions.
  • Represent the company professionally in public and uphold company ethics.
  • Maintain a customer-oriented focus and communicate politely and effectively with customers.
  • Work as part of a team with managers and other departments; participate in department meetings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sewer systems, repair and installation using standard tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills with technical accuracy, clarity, and quality.
  • Follow and monitor appropriate safety practices and report violations to the Sewer Supervisor.
Skills and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of all sewer systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate install team members on job performance and provide coaching as necessary.
  • Follow and demonstrate company policies with team members.
  • Diagnostic and analytical skills; ability to work well under pressure.
  • Effective communication with customers, install team members, dispatch, and management.
Pay Range

$20 - $32 USD
