The Assistant Manager will supervise and support a team of accountants, perform detailed reviews of accounting work, and act as a deputy to the Client Accounting Manager, helping to ensure that all deliverables are complete, accurate, appropriately supported and ready for Manager review.
Your duties will include:
Support the delivery of accounting services for a portfolio of Private Wealth, Trust and Corporate clients ensuring deliverables are prepared in accordance with agreed deadlines, service standards and quality expectations
Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and client-facing teams to support effective delivery.
Identify and respond to accounting queries and assist in resolving technical issues, errors, inconsistencies and areas of risk, escalating matters where appropriate.
Review accounting records, reconciliations, working papers, financial statements and other deliverables prepared by the team, ensure they are technically accurate, complete, appropriately evidence and compliant with internal requirements and accounting standards
Support the Client Accounting Manager in maintaining robust control and review procedures across the team to ensure high quality and timely accounts.
Provide day-to-day guidance, supervision and technical support to accountants within the team such as IFRS and UK GAAP
Assist with workload planning and resource allocation to ensure deadlines are met
Support the development of team members through coaching, training, onboarding and regular feedback
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and service delivery, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of new systems, processes enhancements and working practices
Support internal and external audit activities for our clients, ensuring audit requests and queries are addressed in a timely and effective manner
About you
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent) or actively studying towards qualification
Experience in client accounting, fiduciary services, private wealth, corporate services, or a similar financial services environment
Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, accounting records and complex accounting deliverables
Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience applying accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
Experience supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members
Excellent organisational and time management skills
High level of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
