Job Summary:
The Senior Features Editor is responsible for producing, commissioning and editing features for CNT’s print editions and all digital platforms. Reporting into the Head of Editorial Content, you’ll oversee stories from the team as well as external contributors. This is a key role at CNT, helping to shape the tone and voice of the brand, and, as such, you’ll be one of the most experienced writers and editors on the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Working with the CNT’s editorial leadership leaders to write, commission and edit features for all of CNT’s platforms, including the magazine and the website.
Mentoring a team of young writers through your experience and insights
Collaborating with international colleagues in CNT’s global network to identify story opportunities from across the globe, and to contribute stories to the rest of the network.
Representing CNT at trade and industry events.
Contributing to the social, digital and video strategy and events
Understanding and building commercial relationships, working with the revenue teams on pitches and executing special projects whenever necessary.
Skills & Requirements:
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Prior publishing experience with a publishing house or a lifestyle magazine is a must. The role also requires you to be comfortable with the rigours and rhythms of digital publishing, preferably with a lifestyle publisher.
A flair for storytelling and a proven track record of identifying trends and topics to cover–and the best way in which to write and engage with our audience.
Experience with SEO, and using and acting on data collected from key analytics tools is preferable.
A strong understanding of India and its culture is critical. A solid network of regional and international contacts is preferred.
Good interpersonal communications skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across myriad departments and differing levels of seniority.
Experience of working closely with business teams to identify and collaborate on revenue-generating projects, whether commercial or consumer.
