MFA or Graduate with Diploma/Certificate course in Designing

Experience:

- Candidates with minimum 2 years relevant teaching experience are preferred

Job Description:

- Undergoing an induction programme to imbibe in them the philosophy of The Somaiya School.
- Designing and implementing the curriculum for the given class.
- To organize and prepare learning materials and resources.
- To use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, act,outdoor activities etc.) to motivate and stimulate the childs abilities.
- Maintain open line of communication with the reporting authorities and provide appropriate information.
- Preparing synopsis of the work done in class.
- Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations.
- Preparing and maintaining the assessment documents and portfolio of each student in the class.
- Maintaining progress and Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation reports of students of the class.
- Maintaining anecdotal records of children.
- Preparing individualized database for the students of the class
- Contacting parents, when needed, with the permission of the Principal and apprising them about the academic progress of the children.
- Communicating with parents through a handbook as and when required under the guidance of your authorities.
- Conducting IWP and Open Days under the guidance of authorities.
- Documenting best practices when the school activities are underway.
- Maintaining inventory for class equipment and materials.
- Preparation of proposals for action research projects to improve teaching-learning processes.
- Undergoing capacity building activities on content and concept related learning areas from time to time.
- Providing additional coaching to children of The Somaiya School, whenever there is a need.
- Accepting any other responsibility, as assigned by the Secondary from time to time, aimed at improving the overall performance of the school.
- Being open to feedback and working on the feedback to improve yourself.
- Submitting self-performance appraisal report to the Secondary & Sr Secondary Coordinator of the school.
- To be patient, pleasant, caring and enthusiastic teacher, students would love to interact and associate with.
- Assuming additional responsibilities, as assigned by the Principal, for co-curricular activities of the school.
- Any work, as assigned by the Principal.
