Visual Art Teacher – IB School
(MYP / DP / IGCSE exposure preferred)
Job Profile
A Visual Art Teacher in an IB School is responsible for nurturing creativity, artistic expression, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning among students through studio-based and conceptual art education.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging Visual Art lessons aligned with IB philosophy and curriculum framework.
Teaching drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, design, digital art, and creative exploration techniques.
Encouraging inquiry-based, experiential, and student-led learning.
Developing students' creativity, observation, aesthetics, and portfolio-building skills.
Integrating global perspectives, culture, reflection, and art appreciation into classroom learning.
Organizing exhibitions, art displays, competitions, workshops, and school events.
Assessing and documenting student progress as per IB/IGCSE assessment practices.
Maintaining art studios, materials, displays, and safety standards.
Collaborating with homeroom and subject teachers for interdisciplinary projects.
Supporting students in portfolio preparation for higher studies and exhibitions (especially DP/IGCSE levels).
Participating in school events, parent meetings, training, and professional development programmes.
Pre-requisites / Eligibility
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Fine Arts / Visual Arts / Applied Arts or related field.
B.Ed. preferred (mandatory in many schools).
IB / Cambridge / International Curriculum experience preferred.
Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in reputed schools.
Strong practical knowledge of various art forms and techniques.
Knowledge of digital art tools, design software, and contemporary art practices is an added advantage.
Good communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to create an inclusive, creative, and inquiry-driven learning environment.
Portfolio of artwork/projects preferred during interview process.
Willingness to participate in exhibitions, events, and collaborative school activities.
