Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Special Educator role based in Dehradun. The Special Educator will identify learners with diverse needs, conduct baseline assessments, and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with curriculum requirements. The role involves delivering structured lessons, remedial sessions, and classroom interventions for middle school learners, using inclusive and learner-centered methods. The educator will collaborate with mainstream teachers to adapt teaching materials, modify assessments, and create accessible classroom environments.
Daily responsibilities include maintaining documentation and progress reports, engaging with parents and caregivers, conducting awareness sessions on inclusive education, and coordinating with school leadership and local stakeholders. The role may also involve conducting training and orientation sessions for teachers on effective strategies for supporting learners with disabilities.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of Special Education and diverse learning needs, including experience working with children with disabilities.
Demonstrated classroom Teaching experience, preferably at the Middle School level, with the ability to design and implement IEPs.
Excellent Communication skills to work effectively with students, families, teachers, and community stakeholders.
Relevant degree or diploma in Special Education or a related field; RCI registration or equivalent certification is an advantage.
Familiarity with inclusive education practices, child protection norms, and basic educational assessment tools.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation, progress tracking, and reporting in a timely and organized manner.
Comfort working in underserved or government school settings and openness to field-based work and community engagement.
Proficiency in using basic digital tools (e.g., email, word processing, presentations) to support teaching and reporting.
