In Brief:
To deliver engaging, inquiry-based Physics education across the Middle Years Programme (MYP), Cambridge IGCSE, and the IB Diploma Programme (SL & HL), fostering scientific thinking, conceptual understanding, research skills, and international-mindedness while preparing students for internal and external assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery
Teach Physics across MYP (Grades 6–10), IGCSE (Grades 9–10), and IBDP (Grades 11–12).
Develop inquiry-based, concept-driven lessons aligned with IB and Cambridge frameworks.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
Integrate interdisciplinary learning and real-world scientific applications.
Promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Assessment & Evaluation
Design formative and summative assessments.
Prepare students for:
MYP eAssessment/Internal Assessment
Cambridge IGCSE Physics Examinations
IBDP Physics SL & HL External Assessments
Guide students in Internal Assessments (IA) and practical investigations.
Maintain accurate academic records and provide timely feedback.
Laboratory Management
Plan and conduct safe laboratory experiments.
Ensure laboratory safety standards and documentation.
Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
Encourage scientific inquiry through hands-on practical work.
IB & Cambridge Responsibilities
Implement ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills.
Incorporate Global Contexts and Key & Related Concepts in MYP planning.
Integrate the Nature of Science (NOS) and conceptual learning.
Support students in Theory of Knowledge (TOK) connections with Physics.
Participate in curriculum review and moderation activities.
Student Support
Act as a Homeroom/Tutor Teacher when assigned.
Mentor students academically and personally.
Communicate regularly with parents.
Support university and career guidance where appropriate.
Co-Curricular Responsibilities
Organize:
Science exhibitions
STEM fairs
Robotics activities
Astronomy clubs
Physics Olympiads
Innovation projects
Accompany students on educational visits and competitions.
Essential Qualifications
Master's Degree in Physics (preferred) & Bachelor's Degree in Physics.
B.Ed. or recognized teaching qualification.
IB Category 1/2 Training (preferred).
Cambridge IGCSE teaching certification/training (preferred).
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of Physics teaching experience.
Experience teaching one or more of:
IB MYP
Cambridge IGCSE
IB Diploma Programme (SL & HL)
Experience with inquiry-based teaching methodologies.
Experience guiding IBDP Internal Assessments and practical work is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
Strong subject knowledge in Physics.
Excellent English communication skills.

Classroom management.
