Role Description The Curriculum Developer – English – K–10 is a remote, contract role responsible for creating engaging, standards-aligned English language arts curricula for students in kindergarten through grade 10. Day-to-day tasks include designing lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments that support reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, as well as integrating project-based and technology-enhanced learning where appropriate. The role involves conducting research on best practices in literacy instruction, aligning materials with grade-level benchmarks, and ensuring content is inclusive, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive.
The Curriculum Developer will collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine materials, incorporate feedback from educators, and maintain consistency in tone, quality, and learning outcomes across the curriculum.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design, with experience creating English/language arts materials for K–10 learners.
Strong Writing and Communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, engaging, and age-appropriate instructional content and teacher guidance.
Proficiency in Research to inform curriculum with evidence-based literacy practices, educational standards, and diverse texts and media.
Experience or familiarity with project-based learning, technology-enhanced instruction, or integrating platforms and digital tools into English curriculum.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, English, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Knowledge of K–10 English/language arts standards (e.g., state standards, Common Core) and assessment practices.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in online or blended learning environments and a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered design is highly beneficial.
