Renewable Energy Monitoring & Open Access Executive

Job Description
The Renewable Energy Monitoring & Open Access professional will be responsible for end-to-end monitoring of in-house renewable power sources (roof top solar) and third-party power supply (windmill & solar plant) managing open access power procurement and scheduling . The role ensures optimal utilization of renewable energy, regulatory compliance, accurate scheduling, and seamless coordination with Power supplier and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
In-House Renewable Energy Monitoring
Monitor real-time and day-ahead generation of in-house solar power plants .
Track plant availability, generation performance, PR, and outages.
Coordinate with O&M teams to resolve generation shortfalls and breakdowns.
Analyse generation vs. forecast and identify optimization opportunities.
Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly RE generation reports.
Open Access Power Management
Manage short-term and medium-term open access for renewable and conventional power.
Coordinate with SLDC/RLDC/NLDC for scheduling, revisions, and despatch.
Prepare and submit day-ahead schedules, intraday revisions , and real-time adjustments.
Monitor transmission constraints, congestion, and losses.
Handle deviation settlement (DSM) and ensure grid code compliance.
Power Trading & Market Operations
Execute power trading on IEX (DAM, RTM, TAM, Green Market, etc.)
Prepare and submit bids/offers in compliance with IEX and CERC regulations
Optimize buy strategies based on load forecasts and market prices for maximum savings
Monitor real-time market performance and manage deviations
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure compliance with CERC/SERC regulations, Grid Code, DSM regulations , and state OA rules.
Monitor compliance with RPO, green open access, and RE consumption targets .
Maintain documentation for approvals, schedules, and regulatory submissions.
Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
Commercial & Energy Accounting
Track open access energy accounting, losses, and billing.
Coordinate with finance teams for energy reconciliation, invoices, and payments .
Monitor OA charges such as transmission, wheeling, cross-subsidy surcharge (if applicable).
Risk & Performance Management
Monitor trading risks and exposure
Optimize portfolio performance and cost savings
Support audit and compliance documentation
Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with DISCOMs, transmission utilities, traders, and regulators.
Coordinate internally with operations, sustainability, finance, and legal teams.
Prepare dashboards and MIS reports for management review.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of solar & wind power generation monitoring .
Hands-on experience in open access scheduling and coordination .
Knowledge of interstate/intrastate transmission systems .
Familiarity with Indian power market regulations .
Good analytical and reporting skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, SCADA portals, SLDC/RLDC systems .
Educational Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Power Engineering
Diploma with strong relevant experience may also be considered
Preferred Experience
Experience with corporate RE procurement, captive/group captive projects , or large power consumers.
Exposure to green open access policies is an added advantage.
