JOB DESCRIPTION
Operate the Centrifuge and Dryer and ensure it functions efficiently at wellsite, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of chiller systems. Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot solids control and drilling waste management equipment, including shale shakers, centrifuges, screw conveyors, cuttings dryers, and associated cuttings handling systems.
Monitor and optimize equipment performance to ensure efficient removal of drilled solids and recovery of usable drilling fluids.
Operate and monitor cuttings dryers, including feed rate, screen condition, vibration, discharge quality, and recovered fluid quality.
Operate and maintain augers and screw conveyors, ensuring safe transfer of drill cuttings and prevention of blockages, overloading, and mechanical damage.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and equipment inspections on mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
Identify and report mechanical issues such as abnormal vibration, bearing wear, gearbox or motor faults, screen damage, drive system issues, and cuttings transfer problems.
Support safe handling, transfer, drying, and disposal of drill cuttings in line with NOV, client, and environmental requirements.
Optimize shaker screen selection and solids control equipment settings in coordination with mud engineers and client representatives.
Prepare and submit daily solids control reports, equipment performance reports, maintenance records, spare parts usage reports, and material consumption records.
Maintain site inventory of consumables, screens, spares, and equipment parts; initiate reorder requests when required.
Ensure all required equipment, personnel, tools, and materials are available before operations begin.
Comply with all NOV HSEQ policies, client procedures, permit-to-work systems, local regulations, and site safety standards.
Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, job safety analyses, and operational planning meetings.
Provide technical support and guidance to rig crew or site personnel involved in solids control and waste management operations.
Communicate operational status, equipment issues, and improvement recommendations to supervisors, client representatives, and support teams.
Participate in training programs and maintain required certifications for offshore or rig-site operations.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Knowledge of drilling fluids, drilling waste handling, and solids control efficiency.
Experience operating or maintaining vertical cuttings dryers, screw conveyors, and cuttings transfer systems.
Electrical awareness or documented electrical training.
Offshore, rig-site, or international rotational experience.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure.
Experience working in multicultural teams and client-facing environments.
Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements related to drilling waste and cuttings disposal.
HSE Responsibilities
Follow all NOV and client HSE policies, procedures, and site safety rules.
Conduct all work in accordance with permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, manual handling, working at height, and lifting procedures.
Identify hazards and participate in risk assessments before starting work.
Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, equipment damage, and environmental concerns immediately.
Ensure cuttings handling, drying, transfer, and disposal activities are performed safely and responsibly.
Maintain good housekeeping around solids control and waste management equipment.
Use required personal protective equipment at all times.

Working Conditions
Rig-site, offshore, or remote field-based work environment.
Rotational work schedule depending on project and region.
Exposure to drilling operations, noise, vibration, moving equipment, drilling fluids, cuttings, and weather conditions.
Requirement to wear PPE and comply with all site access, medical, and safety certification requirements.
May involve lifting, climbing stairs/ladders, working at height, and working around operating machinery.
Job Requirement
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
