Role and Purpose

Sumo Video Games India is looking for passionate VFX artists who aspire to create high quality visual effects for game development alongside the Sumo UK Studios and help bring life to game world of some of the world class game projects on major consoles.
The ideal candidate should have experience in designing, creating and implementing strong visual effects for real time use in game.

Responsibilities

Working along with the Lead VFX Artist, the candidate will be working on a current project in production, and will form part of the highly skilled Art team and be required to:

Create all types of high-quality effects for environment and dynamic objects.
Possess exemplary oral and written communication skills
Work directly with FX Lead and Art Directors to understand and meet the visual quality bar
Self-directed, passionate, creative problem solver with can do attitude
Ability to understand overall art style and vision of VFX for the game and generated new ideas for environments and objects
Passion for learning and expanding knowledge
Passion for lots of different genre of games on Console or PC
Strong artistic ability with good technical knowledge
Ability to communicate effectively with other designers, VFX directors, management and peers in other disciplines
Good Knowledge and experience with real time visual effect editors
Be proactive in communicating progress and solving problems in dependently
Familiarity with recent games and the trends of the genre
Clear understanding and appreciation of schedules and milestones
Work well/respond to pressure
Take direction and criticism
-Professionalism and the ability to function well within a team.
Collaborate and communicate daily and weekly with project teams in the UK
Mentor and oversee the work of Junior VFX artists

Skills and Requirements

Ability to conceptualize abstract concepts into impressive on screen visuals
Keen eye for detail along with good understanding of timing, animation, weight and scale
Minimum 5+ years of experience in creating visual effects, with at least one shipped title ideally on a PC/Console
Ability to design/prototype, create and implement visual effect for real time use in game using most efficient memory footprint
Create natural phenomena such as fire, explosions, smoke, water, dust and weather system. Also, should able to create assets for destruction of buildings, vehicles and natural environments
Strong understanding of real-time particle systems (e.g., Unity VFX Graph, Unreal Niagara)
Ability to create all required art assets needed for particle effect creation using various 2D and 3D applications
Experience in optimizing effects to run efficiently within the game while maintaining high quality standards
Proficient in 3D software applications such as Max or Maya
Strong texture creation skills to use in particle system using various 2D,3D applications
Ability to work within budget with good understanding of console limitations
Good understanding of shaders and their creation.
Ability to work on multiple task when required
