Your Team Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate - Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Private Capital Solutions (PCS) QA team.
This role offers hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing while working on high-impact investment analytics applications and dashboards. You will collaborate with senior QA engineers and cross-functional teams to execute test cases, contribute to automation frameworks, and ensure quality across ongoing product development and business-as-usual (BAU) initiatives.
Support QA efforts for applications including dashboards, data grids, and financial reporting modules.
Work closely with senior QA engineers, developers, and business analysts to align test efforts with sprint goals.
Participate in BAU and feature-specific QA activities across test design, execution, and defect triage.
Assist in maintaining the integrity of automated test suites and frameworks.
Contribute to the Agile SDLC by participating in stand-ups, sprint planning, and quality reviews.
Continuously learn and apply MSCI's best practices in QA methodology and tools.

Key Responsibilities:
Manual Testing:
Review functional requirements and assist in writing detailed, traceable test scenarios.
Execute manual test cases and document results aligned with project goals.
Identify, report, and track defects in JIRA to closure.
Perform regression testing for product releases and patches.
Validate UI workflows, filters, entitlement controls, and data accuracy in dashboards.
Automation Testing:
Assist in building and executing test scripts using Microsoft Playwright with guidance.
Contribute to basic automation framework tasks using the Page Object Model (POM).
Automate API testing and contribute to script maintenance and debugging.
Gain exposure to YAML-based pipeline integration via Azure Dev Ops.
Performance Testing (Optional but preferred):
Create and run simple JMeter-based test plans for API and endpoint validation.
Learn to analyze test results and understand performance bottlenecks.
Optionally enhance test logic using basic Groovy scripting.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with team members to understand project requirements and timelines.
Maintain QA documentation including test scenarios, logs, and test execution reports.
Engage in learning new tools and adapting to emerging QA practices and technologies.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel:
4-5 years of experience in software testing or a strong academic foundation in QA concepts.
Understanding of QA lifecycle, defect management, and test planning.
Exposure to manual testing practices including UI, regression, and API validations.
Basic knowledge of automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium Web Driver.
Familiarity with JavaScript, XPath, and SQL for test scripting and validation.
Experience or willingness to learn tools like JIRA, Git, Visual Studio Code, and Azure Dev Ops.
Good communication and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced Agile development environment.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
