Position: Lead DevOps  Platform Engineer

Your Team Responsibilities:
The Dev Ops Platform Engineering team is responsible for building, operating, and evolving the core Dev Ops and cloud platforms that enable engineering teams across MSCI to deliver software securely, reliably, and  part of the MSCI Core Dev Ops team, you will own and evolve the tooling, CI/CD platforms, and cloud infrastructure that power the enterprise developer workflow. This includes Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native infrastructure, and internal platforms such as the MSCI Software Catalog and Internal Developer Portal.
The team defines and maintains standards, golden paths, and reusable patterns that product and engineering teams adopt to accelerate delivery while maintaining consistency, security, and compliance.
As a Dev Ops Engineer, you will design, build, operate, and support production-grade Dev Ops platforms, CI/CD systems, and cloud infrastructure, while enabling engineering teams through automation, documentation, and self-service capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, manage, and operate enterprise CI/CD platforms using Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub, including pipelines, templates, reusable workflows, and shared libraries.
Own and maintain the Dev Ops Platform Engineering CI/CD and cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
Define, implement, and promote standards, golden paths, and best practices for CI/CD, source control, branching strategies, infrastructure, and cloud-native development.
Build custom integrations and automation on Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub using APIs, webhooks, and event-driven workflows to integrate with internal and external systems.
Act as a subject matter expert across the entire developer workflow (SDLC) - from source control and build to test, release, deployment, and production operations.
Design and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using modern Dev Ops and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
Partner closely with application and product teams to enable adoption of platform capabilities and improve developer experience.
Drive continuous improvement in platform reliability, security, performance, and usability.
Support production platforms and tooling, including incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous hardening.
Contribute to the evolution of MSCI's next-generation Dev Ops tooling, APIs, and platforms to enable operational insights, developer productivity, and engineering excellence.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel:  Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience in Dev Ops or Platform Engineering roles.
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Dev Ops and/or Git Hub (repositories, pipelines, workflows, permissions, integrations).
Deep understanding of CI/CD principles, Dev Ops best practices, and SDLC automation.
Strong experience with Git-based source control (branching strategies, PR workflows, governance).
Professional proficiency in Bash scripting for automation, tooling, and integrations.
Proven experience building and consuming REST APIs for platform integrations.
Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including managed cloud Kubernetes services.
Strong cloud experience with Azure and/or GCP, including designing and operating cloud-native infrastructure.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, participating effectively in sprint planning, delivery, and retrospectives.
Strong operational mindset with experience supporting production platforms.
Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
Nice to Have

Experience with ArgoCD, Argo Workflows, Prometheus, and Cert Manager.

Experience with GoLang, Java, and/or Python.
Familiarity with databases such as MSSQL, and Postgre

SQL.
Exposure to developer portals or internal platforms (e.g., Backstage or similar).
Exposure to frontend technologies such as React and Type Script for platform UI or tooling.
