The Data Dictionary & AI Lead position is part of Marsh Data team, which is part of the broader BCS organization. This role will report to the Global Data Head.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead for Data Dictionary Development using AI capabilities, Documentation & Business Analysis. The role’s main responsibility is to drive the development, standardization, and maintenance of enterprise-wide data definitions within our insurance business using internal AI and GenAI capabilities & tools. This role will also lead a pool of AI experts who will develop business definitions and Business Analysts who will be responsible for facilitating the revisions of the definitions with the Subject Matter Expert.

The Lead ensures clarity, consistency, and accessibility of business-critical data across global and regional systems, enabling regulatory compliance and a data-driven culture.

This position requires exceptional communication and collaboration skills alongside deep data knowledge and experience working within insurance or/ and insurance brokerage industry.

We will count on you to:

Data Dictionary Ownership

- Lead the development of the enterprise data glossaries and dictionaries covering key data domains (policy, claims, client, placement, finance, etc.) including the documentation, and maintenance respecting the roles and responsibilities as per enterprise data governance principles.
- Define requirements for AI tools delivery related to creation of the data definitions across Marsh organization.
- Define and standardize metadata, business definitions, data lineage, and usage guidelines.
- Ensure alignment of data definitions across global and regional systems.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

- Partner with business SMEs, data stewards, and IT teams to capture accurate definitions and validate consistency.
- Work closely with regional/global data governance teams to ensure compliance with enterprise data standards.
- Act as the central point of contact for questions related to data definitions and dictionary content.

Team Leadership & Resource Management

- Lead, mentor, and manage a pool of AI experts and Business Analysts within the Data Definition team.
- Allocate BA and AI resources across documentation initiatives, ensuring delivery timelines and quality standards are met.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to build BA and AI capabilities in data documentation and governance.
- Ensure effective collaboration between AI development team, BAs, business SMEs, and IT stakeholders.

Tools & Enablement

- Leverage Marsh AI solutions for data definitions development, expert knowledge in AI prompting and creating AI agents
- Implement and manage metadata/documentation tools to capture and share data dictionary content.
- Provide training and awareness sessions for stakeholders on how to use and contribute to the data dictionary.
- Enable integration of data dictionary with data quality, catalog, and lineage solutions.

Governance & Compliance

- Embed dictionary updates into data governance processes, ensuring proper approvals and version control.
- Support internal/external audits with accurate documentation of data definitions and ownership.
- Ensure that the data dictionary supports regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, Solvency II, KYC/AML).

Continuous Improvement

- Set up constant improvement process for AI tooling development with the feedback loop from business SMEs
- Establish a process for regular updates and governance of the dictionary.
- Monitor adoption and usage, collecting feedback to enhance usability.
- Promote a culture of data transparency and accountability across the organization.

What you need to have:

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data management, governance, or related roles (insurance/financial services preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in AI prompting, tooling, GenAI, prototyping AI agents' and own workflows
- Strong understanding of insurance data domains (policy, claims, placement, reinsurance, client data, etc.).
