Senior Automation​/tool development Engineer Python Java

Position: Senior Automation/tool development Engineer - (Python Java)
As a Automation/Tools Development Engineer in HERE Professional Services - Global Solution Engineering, you will be responsible to design, implement and document Automated Solutions for Inter-Tool communication between HERE Customers and Internal HERE Teams and contribute towards the development of Tableau Dashboards for Data visualization/Data Analytics that will be used by both Customer and Internal stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities include:

- You will design, build, automate, and maintain solutions that connect HERE systems with customer systems.
- Organizing and extracting data from APIs and SQL databases.
- Developing Python-based automation apps, particularly using the JIRA REST API for cross‑JIRA synchronization.
- Creating and maintaining Tableau dashboards for analytics and customer/internal reporting.
- Researching and delivering new automation solutions.
- Installing and configuring Linux systems.
- Acting as the primary owner for developed automations and supporting stakeholders in issue resolution.
- You will also contribute to automation testing by designing and developing integration, acceptance, and performance tests.
- Translating requirements into test cases and managing test suites.
- Debugging issues and supporting enhancements or change requests.
- Serving as the technical contact for test automation.
- Clearly communicating technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Who Are You?

- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Python and Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven).
- Strong knowledge of SQL (Postgres/MySQL).
- Hands-on experience with Atlassian JIRA systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, AWS, Git Lab).
- Experience in software development, infrastructure, or Dev Ops.
- Ability to make informed decisions after consulting stakeholders.
- Curiosity to stay updated on emerging technologies in automation.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in multicultural, multi-site environments.
