JD:
The SAP BASIS Lead will be responsible for managing endtoend BASIS operations and leading AMS support for an SAP ECC environment This role requires handson expertise in SAP BASIS administration strong leadership skills and experience managing incident problem and change processes in a multivendor delivery model The BASIS Lead will coordinate with functional technical and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability performance and continuous service improvement
Key Responsibilities
1 SAP BASIS Operations Administration
Manage daytoday SAP BASIS activities for ECC BI PIPO Solution Manager and other SAP components
Perform client copies system refreshes transports spool admin tasks kernel upgrades and system monitoring
Ensure system performance availability and capacity planning
Oversee SAP Job scheduling monitoring and optimization in collaboration with operations teams
2 AMS Delivery Support
Own the Incident Problem and Change Management lifecycle for BASIS related activities
Ensure SLAs KPIs and service quality metrics are consistently met
Coordinate with AMS functional and ABAP teams for cross functional support
Manage root cause analysis RCA for high priority issues and recurring incidents
3 System Landscape Environment Management
Manage multisystem landscape
DEV QA UAT PREPROD and PROD environments
Ensure proper transport path management and adherence to governance processes
Maintain system documentation landscape diagrams and architectural details
4 Security Compliance
Collaborate with SAP Security team to ensure compliance with security standards
Support audits SOX controls user management guidelines and vulnerability remediations
Ensure system hardening patch management and regular health checks
5 Release Upgrade Migration Activities
Plan and lead activities such as EHP upgrades kernel updates Unicode conversions and OSDB migrations
Coordinate with hosting partners infra teams and cloud platforms if applicable
Support integration with nonSAP systems middleware and third party platforms
6 Leadership Stakeholder Management
Lead a team of BASIS engineers supporting 247 AMS operations
Act as the primary point of contact for customer stakeholders
Provide status updates dashboards and servicequality reports
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities
Required Skills Experience
Technical Skills
812 years of SAP BASIS experience with at least 3 years in lead managerial roles
Strong experience with SAP ECC 60 EHP versions OracleDB2
HANA databases
Handson in SAP system installations migrations SUMDMO and support packages
Proficiency in Solution Manager ChaRM Monitoring EWA and ALM processes
Understanding of SAP Portal PIPO BI and integration landscapes
Experience with OS environments Linux Unix Windows and cloud platforms AWSAzure is a plus
Leadership Management Skills
Experience managing AMS delivery teams onshore offshore
Strong communication and stakeholder management
Ability to handle crisis management P1P2 incident calls
Experience in project planning workload distribution and vendor coordination
Skills
Mandatory Skills : DB Management for SAP Systems, SAP Basis Advanced Operation, SAP Basis Core, SAP System Migrations, SAP System Setup
