Data Scientist

Description
The role incumbent will be responsible for providing data driven approaches towards informed decision making through data analytics, process improvement, proactive solution and passion for machine-learning and research assessments for Godrej Capital.

Key responsibilities

Develop Machine Learning Models or analytical algorithms for effective credit risk identification, fraud indicator, collection prioritization, Customer propensity etc.
Identify data patterns & trends and provide insights to enhance business decision making capability. Deep Dive on emerging trends for early warning and risk mitigation
Should be working towards enhancing data systems and streamlining business processes by working closely with technology teams to align capabilities and implement and test production level systems
Communicate findings to all stakeholders
Lead a team of junior resources for delivery of advanced analytical tools
Data driven approaches and alternate data discovery to identify opportunity and Optimise Credit Risk Policy

Requirements

• Years of experience - 2 to 5 years of relevant experience with prior focus in Risk Analytics

• Graduate / Post-graduate degree in Engineering /Economics/Stats/ Maths or any equivalent Quantitative area. (Engineers preferred)

• Experience in writing complex SQL queries and perform detailed data analysis

• Should be proficient in Python / R

• Use of Statistical algorithm and Machine Learning in prior job

• Prior Experience in BFSI/ Scorecard Development / Portfolio Monitoring / Policy Analytics
Excellent Presentation skill

• Prior mentorship experience (Good to have)
