The opportunity
The Head – Fintechs will serve as the strategic leader responsible for driving NPCI's engagement, growth, and influence across India's fintech landscape. This role will oversee high‑impact partnerships with TPAPs, Non‑Bank PPIs, Aggregators, and emerging digital players to strengthen the digital payments ecosystem, accelerate adoption of NPCI products, and unlock new revenue opportunities. The leader will anchor strategic ecosystem initiatives, shape innovation agendas, and ensure seamless operational alignment across fintech integrations.

Strategic Relationship Leadership & Growth Ownership
Provide executive-level leadership in building and sustaining high‑impact relationships with key fintechs and ecosystem players, identifying strategic opportunities to expand influence, accelerate adoption, and drive business growth across NPCI's product portfolio.
Fintech Ecosystem Stewardship & Innovation Enablement
Lead and shape NPCI's engagement strategy with fintech organizations, championing collaborative interventions that strengthen innovation, enhance operational robustness, and advance the maturity of India's digital payments ecosystem.
Ecosystem Trust, Adoption & Revenue Expansion
Foster a trusted, long‑term partnership environment with fintech leaders to drive deeper integration and wider adoption of NPCI products and services, directly contributing to revenue expansion and ecosystem value creation.
Strategic Advisory to Fintech Leaders
Act as a senior advisor and ecosystem enabler—driving collaboration among fintechs, aligning their roadmaps with NPCI priorities, and providing strategic guidance to ensure scalable, sustainable, and mutually beneficial outcomes.
B2B/B2C Integrated Offerings & Customer-Centric Innovation
Champion the identification and development of integrated B2B and B2C solutions that create synergy across players, unlock new business models, and deliver superior value and experience to end customers.
Product & Service Excellence Through Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous enhancement of NPCI's products and services by identifying ecosystem needs, evaluating new opportunities and working closely with fintechs to co‑create high‑impact improvements that future‑proof offerings.
Revenue Leadership Across Fintech Partnerships
Own and steer revenue outcomes from fintech relationships, ensuring structured engagement, performance tracking, and growth-focused strategies that maximize contribution from this high‑potential segment.
Key Success Metrics
Driving Product Rollouts & Ecosystem Penetration
Actively involved in end‑to‑end product rollouts, ensuring effective communication channels with ecosystem partners to gather feedback, refine adoption strategies, and drive deeper penetration of UPI features and Credit offerings across the fintech ecosystem.
Ensuring Compliance, Reliability & Trust
Partnering with stakeholders to ensure all integrations meet NPCI's compliance, reliability, and operational trust standards, enabling smooth enablement and secure user experiences.
Strengthening Ecosystem Relationships
Maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with fintechs by balancing ecosystem priorities with NPCI's objectives, ensuring alignment and sustainable growth.
Utilization of AI tools
