The BC/DR Analyst owns operational execution of KLDiscovery's enterprise-wide Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program. This means building and maintaining plans, running Business Impact Analyses, designing and facilitating exercises, and driving post-incident reviews — across every business unit.
This role works directly with IT, Engineering, and business unit stakeholders to document critical dependencies, set recovery objectives, and keep teams ready to respond when something goes wrong. All policy and material updates require Manager approval before publication.
Responsibilities
BIA Execution
Lead enterprise-wide BIAs: identify critical operations, map dependencies, and document RTOs and RPOs across all in-scope business units.
Engage business unit owners and IT/Engineering stakeholders to gather and validate BIA inputs.
Keep BIA records current; update following any material change to critical processes or operations.
BCP Development and Maintenance
Own, draft, and continuously improve Business Continuity Plans and DR strategies for each KLDiscovery business unit.
Work with IT teams to define recovery priorities and requirements for business-critical systems.
Maintain an audit-ready BC/DR documentation library with version control and artifact currency.
Submit all plan and policy updates to Manager for approval before publication.
Monitor the corporate environment for changes that affect BC/DR requirements; update plans accordingly.
Testing and Exercise Program
Design and coordinate BCP testing scenarios, tabletop exercises, and DR failover tests minimum once annually per type.
Facilitate exercises: run scenarios, inject events, observe and record participant responses.
Confirm exercise logistics with all participants at least 5 business days in advance.
Deliver findings reports with prioritized recommendations to Manager within 5 business days of exercise close.
Track all action items to closure in Logic Gate (or equivalent GRC tool); escalate overdue items to Manager.
Conduct structured risk assessments of critical business processes, systems, and dependencies: document findings, assign risk ratings, and produce prioritized mitigation recommendations. Submit to Manager; reassess after material changes to operations, technology, or the threat environment.
Post-Incident Review
Complete post-incident reviews within 10 business days of incident close.
Document procedure gaps, RTO/RPO performance versus targets, and coordination or contact list issues.
Update affected BC/DR policies following PIRs; submit to Manager before re-publication
Training and Awareness
