Job Description & How to Apply Below
Designation: Management Trainee — AI & Process Automation
Base location: Corporate Services Department (CSD), Mumbai — with frequent and extended travel to Kores plants
Experience:
0–2 years. Fresh graduates and early-career hires welcome. Strong fundamentals, trainable, willing to spend significant time at plants.
About the Role
The Digital Transformation Cell is hiring two AI & Process Automation Trainees to take our work directly to the plants. You will spend significant time at Kores manufacturing sites — understanding how processes actually run today, mapping them as flowcharts and SOPs, identifying where AI and automation can take real work off plant teams' plates, and then building and rolling out those solutions.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end role: you own a problem discovery through SOP, build, training and adoption. You will use AI tools (LLMs, agents, copilots, no-code platforms) as your everyday toolkit, and work alongside the wider DT Cell — Power BI, Zoho CRM, SAP, Redshift — to integrate what you build into the broader stack.
We are not looking for ready-made experts. We are looking for sharp, curious people who can learn the plants, love working with new AI tools, write clearly, and stay with a problem until it's actually solved on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Engagement & Process Discovery
Capture the as-is process— including the workarounds, exceptions and tribal knowledge that never make it into formal documentation.
Build trust with plant teams so they bring their real problems to you, not the polished version.
Process Mapping & SOP Digitization
Produce clear process flowcharts— and maintain them in a central, version-controlled repository.
Use AI tools to accelerate documentation — turning raw notes and recordings into structured SOP drafts, surfacing inconsistencies
Maintain a 'process maturity' tracker for each plant: which processes are mapped, which have signed-off SOPs, which are automated, and what's next.
Surface where the same process is done differently across plants and help the team converge on a common standard.
AI & Automation Build
Convert SOPs and prioritised opportunities into working automations using the right tool for the job
Build AI-powered solutions for plant operations
Integrate automations with the existing Kores stack
Build, test and deploy in tight iterations
Rollout, Training & Adoption
Train plant teams on new SOPs and digital tools — and stay with each rollout until adoption is real, not just go-live.
Write clear, user-friendly documentation for everything you ship.
Resolve issues and incorporate user feedback in the weeks following each rollout.
Team Contribution
Work as a pair on plant engagements with the second hire under this role — and collaborate closely with the rest of the DT Cell.
Stay on top of the AI/automation tooling landscape — proactively bring new capabilities (new LLMs, agent frameworks, no-code platforms) to the team and pilot them on real Kores problems.
Maintain code, prompts, workflows and documentation in version-controlled, reusable form so the team can build on each other's work.
Run periodic internal demos to share what you've learned with the wider DT Cell.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline — Computer Science, IT, AI/ML, Data Science, Industrial, Mechanical, Production, Electronics, or related. MBA in Operations is a plus.
Hands-on experience with at least one programming language (Python preferred)
Practical, demonstrable experience building with AI tools — class projects, hackathons, internships, side projects all count. We want to see you've actually built something, not just read about it.
Familiarity with at least one automation or no-code/low-code platform
Strong interest in process design, manufacturing operations, or industrial engineering — formal exposure (coursework, Lean / Six Sigma, internships) is a plus, genuine curiosity is essential.
Comfortable spending 20–30% of time at plants — including shop-floor conditions, shift timings where required, and travel across Kores sites.
Clear written and spoken communication
