About the Role
Client is looking to hire a senior professional to establish and lead a new High-Frequency Trading vertical within the firm. This is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for building the vertical from the ground up, including technology infrastructure, trading systems, strategy development, team building, risk management, and overall return generation.
Responsibilities
Build and lead the firm’s HFT vertical.
Design and oversee low-latency trading infrastructure, trading platforms, and execution systems.
Develop, evaluate, and deploy profitable trading strategies across relevant exchanges and asset classes.
Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of technologists, quantitative researchers, and traders.
Establish robust processes for back testing, simulation, live deployment, monitoring, and risk control.
Work closely with senior management on capital allocation, performance targets, and business expansion.
Ensure compliance with exchange, regulatory, and internal risk-management requirements.
Take ownership of the vertical’s profitability, scalability, and long-term strategic direction.
Qualifications
Prior experience at a leading HFT, quant, proprietary trading firm.
Strong understanding of Indian markets, especially equities, commodities, derivatives, and exchange microstructure.
Experience with low-latency systems, order execution, market data handling, and trading infrastructure.
Ability to evaluate and improve trading strategies from both technology and profitability perspectives.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build a new business vertical within an established proprietary trading firm.
Required Skills
Trading technology leadership.
Trading strategy / research leadership.
Preferred Skills
Experience in the range of 5–10 years, although exceptional candidates with 3–5 years of highly relevant experience at leading HFT firms may also be considered.
