DBA Oracle EBS

About Position:

The Senior Informix DBA will be responsible for end-to-end administration of IBM Informix database environments across production, non-production, DR, and legacy application platforms of CAP. The candidate should have strong experience in managing Informix database servers in enterprise environments, including database monitoring, performance tuning, replication, HA/DR configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and operational documentation.

What You'll Do:

Manage Informix instances, databases, dbspaces, chunks, logical logs, physical logs, temp spaces, and storage structures.
Perform database startup, shutdown, instance health checks, and availability validation.
Manage Informix configuration parameters using onconfig, environment variables, and instance-level settings.
Administer database objects such as tables, indexes, views, constraints, stored procedures, triggers, and permissions.
Manage user access, roles, privileges, and database-level security.
Maintain database inventory, configuration baseline, and operational documentation.

Expertise You'll Bring:

Troubleshoot database outages, connectivity issues, locking/blocking, long-running sessions, space issues, log full conditions, slow queries, and performance degradation.
Analyze Informix online logs, alarm logs, system logs, SQL traces, and application error messages.
Work with application, Server, Network, Storage, Backup, and Middleware teams to resolve database-related incidents.
Participate in major incident calls and provide technical RCA inputs.
Prepare root cause analysis for database failures and recurring issues.
Monitor database performance, resource consumption, sessions, locks, I/O, memory, CPU, and storage usage.
Tune Informix configuration parameters for performance and stability.
Analyze onstat outputs and other Informix diagnostic data.
Participate in DR drills and recovery exercises.
Participate in CAB discussions where Informix database impact exists.
Develop and maintain scripts for health checks, monitoring, backup validation, log monitoring, and space management.
Support 24x7 production environments, including on-call and weekend support as required.
