Web Methods & Azure APIM Administrator

Required Skills & Experience
6–10+ years of experience in web Methods Administration / Middleware Support / API Management / Production Support for enterprise applications
Strong hands-on experience with:
Software AG web Methods Suite (Integration Server, Universal Messaging, My web Methods Server, Trading Networks, Broker/UM, MWS)
Azure API Management (APIM) Administration and Support
Installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of middleware and API management platforms
Containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting
CI/CD tools such as Git Lab, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, or similar automation tools
Scripting:
Shell/Bash, Power Shell [Python is an added advantage]
Experience with :
Monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, App Dynamics, Dynatrace, etc.)
Deployment automation and release management processes
SSL certificate management and security configurations
Cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure and AWS
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep – preferred)
Strong understanding of:
Middleware architecture, API gateways, and integration patterns
REST/SOAP APIs, API security, OAuth, JWT, and authentication mechanisms
Networking fundamentals, load balancing, firewalls, DNS, proxies, and VPN connectivity
Kubernetes concepts including pods, deployments, ingress, services, name spaces, and scaling
High availability, clustering, failover, and disaster recovery concepts
Basic Database concepts (Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL)
Experience supporting high-availability enterprise integration and API management platforms
Roles & Responsibilities
Administer and support Software AG web Methods and Azure API Management (APIM) environments across production and non-production systems
Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migration, and environment setup activities for web Methods and APIM platforms
Manage and support Integration Server, Universal Messaging, Trading Networks, My web Methods Server, and Azure APIM components
Configure and maintain APIs, policies, subscriptions, security certificates, custom domains, and gateways in Azure APIM
Deploy, monitor, and manage containerized middleware and API workloads on Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Configure Kubernetes resources including deployments, services, ingress controllers, config maps, secrets, and autoscaling
Monitor platform health, API performance, availability, and traffic using enterprise monitoring and observability tools
Implement and maintain API security standards, including OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, throttling, and access control policies
Configure clustering, load balancing, failover, and disaster recovery mechanisms to ensure high availability
Automate operational tasks, deployments, and monitoring using Shell, Power Shell, Python, and CI/CD pipelines
Support CI/CD and Dev Ops processes for middleware and API deployments using Azure Dev Ops, Git Lab, or Jenkins
Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures
Coordinate with development, infrastructure, cloud, QA, and application teams for deployments and environment readiness
Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization for middleware and API gateway platforms
Manage SSL certificates, secrets, user access, and compliance/security-related activities
Support release management activities, including deployment validation, rollback planning, and hypercare support
Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and knowledge base articles
Ensure platform stability, reliability, and SLA adherence through proactive monitoring and operational excellence
Participate in on-call support, critical incident management, and production support activities
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, platform optimization, governance, and operational efficiency
