Role Overview
As the Technical Country Lead, you will lead the India-based technology workforce supporting the company’s engineering, product, and delivery priorities. This role will serve as the in-country anchor for building a high-quality, scalable, and responsive technology base, ensuring strong talent quality, disciplined team allocation, effective onboarding, and ongoing performance management across remote engineering teams.
The role is critical to the success of the company’s offshore operating model. You will work closely with engineering, product, delivery, HR, and external employment partners to ensure the India-based team operates as a reliable extension of the core organization. This includes supporting hiring, validating technical talent, allocating resources to squads, driving quality and performance standards, and building strong local ways of working.

Your key responsibilities
Talent Quality and Hiring
Lead the in-country technology hiring process across engineering, AI, architecture, Dev Sec Ops , PMO, and related technical roles.
Support role calibration and assess whether candidate profiles match required skill depth, seniority, and delivery context.
Partner with talent acquisition, hiring managers, and external partners to improve candidate quality and hiring speed.
Conduct technical and managerial screening for shortlisted candidates where required.
Ensure consistent application of hiring standards, scorecards, and evaluation criteria across roles.
Resource Deployment and Team Allocation
Own allocation of India-based technology resources across active client, product, and platform work streams.
Ensure appropriate squad composition across junior, mid, senior, and lead roles.
Balance deployment priorities across delivery needs, product requirements, and bench management.
Support rapid stand-up of squads for new priorities and project demands.
Maintain visibility on utilization, redeployment opportunities, and critical staffing gaps.
Performance Management
Act as the first-line country leader for performance monitoring of India-based tech resources.
Establish regular performance reviews during onboarding, probation, and ongoing delivery cycles.
Identify strong performers, growth potential, and underperformance early.
Work with line managers and function leaders to address performance issues and improve delivery consistency.
Support a culture of accountability, quality, responsiveness, and ownership across the offshore team.
Capability Building and Team Development
Identify skill gaps across the India-based workforce and recommend hiring, training, or redeployment actions.
Support structured coaching and capability building for engineering managers, technical leads, and individual contributors.
Help establish a strong local culture around engineering discipline, collaboration, stakeholder management, and delivery hygiene.
Promote learning paths across relevant technology areas, including backend, frontend, full stack, Dev Sec Ops , applied AI, platform engineering, and enterprise architecture.
Operating Rhythm and Governance
Build and manage the country-level operating rhythm for the technology base, including hiring reviews, staffing reviews, utilization reviews, and performance checkpoints.
Provide regular reporting on resource health, hiring pipeline, deployment status, utilization, and delivery risk areas.
Act as the bridge between India-based resources and central leadership teams across engineering, product, delivery, and COO functions.
Work closely with EOR / staffing / partner providers to ensure smooth onboarding, compliance, issue resolution, and day-to-day workforce stability.
Skills and attributes for success
Strong technology leadership background with the ability to assess engineers, architects, Dev Sec Ops professionals, AI talent, and delivery-support roles.
Strong judgment on talent quality, role fit, seniority calibration, and deployment suitability.
Ability to manage distributed teams and balance hiring, staffing, performance, and capability building simultaneously
High ownership mindset with strong execution discipline and comfort operating in fast-paced environments.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across countries and functions.
Ability to create structure, visibility, and predictability in a scaling offshore workforce model.
