Role Description The Compliance Manager will oversee and maintain Fleak’s compliance framework across relevant regulations, standards, and certifications (such as GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar, depending on business needs). This full-time, remote role involves designing and updating compliance policies, mapping controls to regulatory requirements, and coordinating audits and assessments with internal teams and external partners. The Compliance Manager will monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact on Fleak’s operations and platform, and advise stakeholders on necessary updates.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, managing internal compliance reviews, maintaining documentation and evidence repositories, and supporting security, legal, and engineering teams in embedding compliance by design. The role also includes delivering training, fostering a culture of accountability, and providing clear, practical guidance to cross-functional teammates.
Qualifications
Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, data protection and security standards) and the ability to translate them into practical controls.
Experience building, managing, and improving compliance programs, including policy development, risk assessments, internal controls, and continuous monitoring.
Strong skills in documentation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail to prepare audit-ready evidence, reports, and process descriptions.
Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., security, engineering, product, legal, and operations) to embed compliance into processes and systems.
Experience with SaaS, cloud environments, or data infrastructure products, and familiarity with data lifecycle management and data governance concepts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory topics in clear, accessible language.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Business, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CISSP, CISA, or similar) are a plus.
