A well-established IT staffing and consulting firm is seeking an experienced and visionary Tech PMO Director to lead technical operations and strategy. This senior leadership role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the IT staffing sector. The primary focus of this position is to manage a dedicated group of technical support staff who perform routine health checks on active IT projects and provide critical, hands-on support to on-project consultants facing technical blockers.
The ultimate goal of this role is to eliminate technical failures and keep all client projects moving forward seamlessly.
This position is (Onsite at our Mumbai office, Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm EST.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a group of technical support staff and subject matter experts (SMEs), fostering collaboration and performance excellence.
Oversee and implement proactive health check protocols for ongoing IT projects to identify vulnerabilities before they impact delivery.
Ensure the technical support team provides rapid, effective technical intervention and troubleshooting when on-project consultants encounter complex technical roadblocks.
Minimize technical failures across all client engagements, optimizing support processes for maximum efficiency and uptime.
Oversee training across technology stacks, ensuring support content aligns with current market needs and common project challenges.
Utilize staffing-related technologies (ATS, CRM) and project management frameworks (Agile, Scrum) to track support workflows and streamline operations.
Track KPIs related to service delivery, project health status, and support response times, reporting outcomes directly to executive leadership.
Requirements
10+ years in IT, preferably in US, with a distinct focus on staffing, IT consulting, or technical project management office (PMO) environments.
Proven track record of managing technical support teams, helpdesks, or specialized SME engineering groups.
Strong understanding of complex IT environments, cloud computing, data analytics, and emerging technologies (like AI) to effectively guide blocker resolution.
Deep familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and standard IT project management practices.
Exceptional analytical skills with a strategic mindset focused on risk mitigation and incident prevention.
Ability to translate complex technical blockers and infrastructure issues into actionable solutions for both consultants and diverse stakeholders.
