Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Base
24 Maintenance & Production Support Engineer to ensure the operational stability, continuous availability, and performance optimization of our high-volume payment switching environment.
In this role, you will focus on Level 2/Level 3 production support, proactive system monitoring, incident resolution, and deployment validation. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional payment environments (HP Non Stop/Tandem) and modern infrastructure, leveraging modern Dev Ops practices to streamline monitoring, automation, and release processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Base
24/Base
24 Classic payment switch applications across ATM, POS, authorization, and settlement streams.

• Investigate and resolve critical production incidents, transaction failures, and performance bottlenecks within strict SLAs.

• Analyze application logs, system dumps, and transaction traces (ISO 8583) to execute quick corrective actions.

• Manage production releases, change implementations, and deployment validations using modern Dev Ops pipelines and CI/CD environments.

• Maintain and optimize automated monitoring tools, alert systems, and dashboards to proactively catch system anomalies.

• Coordinate with Network, Security, and Database teams to manage Visa/Mastercard certifications, connectivity testing, and PIN/cryptographic key exchanges.

• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation for critical incident response and scheduled maintenance windows.
Required Technical Skills & Experience (5+ Years)

• Base
24 Core: 5+ years of hands-on production support experience with Base
24 or Base
24 Classic in high-volume environments.

• Platform:
Strong proficiency with HP Non Stop (Tandem) systems, including Guardian, OSS, Pathway, and TACL scripting.

• Dev Ops & Automation:
Practical knowledge of Dev Ops methodologies, CI/CD environments, and modern tracking/monitoring tools (Git, Jira, Service Now, or equivalent).

• Data & Language Exposure:
Good understanding of Enscribe, DDL, SQL, and comfort reading/debugging COBOL, SCOBOL, or TAL code during root-cause analysis.

• Payment Ecosystem:
Deep understanding of ISO 8583 messaging, card BIN tables, HSM devices (Thales/Safe Net), and clearing/settlement workflows.
Nice to Have

• Basic understanding or exposure to .NET web services/applications that interface with core payment systems.

• Experience migration or support exposure involving Base
24-eps environments.
