The Event Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end IT Event Management process to ensure timely detection, monitoring, correlation, and response to infrastructure and application events, helping prevent service disruption and reduce operational impact.

The Event Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end IT Event Management process to ensure timely detection, monitoring, correlation, and response to infrastructure and application events, helping prevent service disruption and reduce operational impact.
Responsibilities
Own and govern the end-to-end Event Management process.
Monitor and manage events generated from infrastructure, applications, network, cloud, and monitoring tools.
Define event classification, prioritization, correlation, filtering, and escalation rules.
Ensure actionable events are identified and routed to the appropriate support teams.
Coordinate with Incident, Problem, Change, and Monitoring teams for event resolution.
Monitor event noise, false positives, duplicate alerts, and recurring events and drive optimization.
Ensure effective event-to-incident automation and integration with the ITSM platform.
Review event patterns and trends to identify potential service-impacting issues.
Support automation, alert tuning, and monitoring improvements to improve operational efficiency.
Maintain event management procedures, documentation, and operational runbooks.
Prepare governance reports and provide insights on event volumes, trends, automation, and operational improvements.
Drive continual improvement and maturity of the Event Management process.
Qualifications
10+ years of overall IT Operations or ITSM experience.
7+ years of experience in Event/Monitoring Management.
Required Skills
Good understanding of ITIL Event Management practices.
Experience working with monitoring and event management tools like Splunk, Solarwinds, Dynatrace etc.
Knowledge of event correlation, alert suppression, threshold management, and automation.
Experience integrating monitoring tools with ITSM platforms, preferably Service Now.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working across multiple technology towers and support teams.
